GUM DROP COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. sour milk or buttermilk (to make buttermilk, add 1 tbsp. vinegar to 1/2 c. milk)
3 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3-4 c. cut up gum drops

Mix shortening, sugar, and eggs. Stir in sour milk. Sift dry ingredients together and stir in. Mix in gum drops. Chill 1 hour. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Drop by spoonfuls 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until set. Makes 6 dozen.
