HERBED ROUND STEAK | |
1 to 2 lb. round steak, cut 3/4-inch thick 1/4 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper garlic salt 2 tbsp. cooking oil 1 medium onion, sliced 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can cream of celery soup 1/2 tsp. dried oregano 1/4 tsp. ground thyme 1/3 c. cold water 3 tbsp. flour Cut meat in pieces. Sprinkle with salts and pepper. Roll in flour and brown both sides in hot oil. Drain and place in crock-pot. Cook onion in reserved drippings. Spoon over meat. Mix celery soup and spices. Spoon mixture over steak and cook until tender. When tender, mix flour with cold water and add to mixture to thicken gravy. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. |
