MAPLE BROWN BREAD 
1 c. cornmeal
1 3/4 c. graham flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. maple syrup
2 c. buttermilk
1 c. seeded raisins

Add cornmeal to graham flour, mixing in soda and salt, do not sift. Add maple syrup to buttermilk and stir into flour mixture. Add raisins. Mix thoroughly and pour into a greased mold, about 1 1/2 quart capacity. Batter should not fill mold more than 2/3 full. Cover and steam for 3 hours. If preferred this brown bread can be baked in 2 small greased loaf pans about 4x8, in a 325 degree F. oven for about an hour or until done.
