STRAWBERRY NUT BREAD 
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. lemon extract
4 eggs
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. strawberry jam
1/2 c. dairy sour cream
1 c. broken nuts

Grease 4 pans 7 3/8 x 3/8 x 2 1/4 inches. Cream first 4 ingredients. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well. Sift dry ingredients. Mix jam (or preserves) using an overflowing cup of preserves) and sour cream. Stir dry ingredients into creamed shortening mixture alternating with jam-sour cream mixture, beating well. Gently fold in nuts. Bake at 350 degrees 50 minutes. Cool 10 minutes, remove, cool on rack.
