3/4 c. shortening (at least part butter)
1/2 c. sugar
1 (3 oz.) pkg. fruit flavored gelatin
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Mix thoroughly the other ingredients. Blend in dry ingredients. Roll dough into 3/4 inch balls. Place 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten each ball with bottom of glass dipped in sugar. Bake in 400 degree oven for 6-8 minutes.
