1 1/2 c. sugar 2 tbsp. cocoa 1/2 c. milk 1/4 c. white Karo syrup 1 stick butter 1 c. walnut halves 1 tsp. vanilla Mix sugar and cocoa well, add milk, syrup and butter. Heat to hard boil, continue boiling, stirring occasionally, until sample forms firm ball in cold water. Add nuts and vanilla after removing pan from heat. Beat until it is very thick and hard to beat. Candy will start to look dull. Pour into medium buttered platter. Very rich and very good. |
