ORANGE SPICED SCONES 
1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour (may substitute part whole wheat)
3 tbsp. sugar
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 tsp. grated orange peel
1/3 c. butter
1/2 c. raisins
1 egg, slightly beaten
4-6 tbsp. half and half
1 egg, slightly beaten

ORANGE BUTTER:

1/2 c. softened butter
2 tbsp. orange marmalade

Heat oven to 400 degrees. In a medium bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder and orange peel. Cut 1/3 cup butter into flour mixture until it resembles fine crumbs. Stir in raisins, 1 egg and just enough half and half so dough leaves the sides of the bowl.

Turn onto lightly floured surface and knead ten times. Roll into 9 inch circle. Slice, pie like, into 12 wedges and place on buttered cookie sheet. Brush tops with other beaten egg and bake 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Immediately remove scones from cookie sheet.

In a small bowl mix orange butter ingredients and serve with scones.
