DATE PUDDING 
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
pinch of salt
1 c. nuts
1 c. chopped dates
1/2 c. sweet milk
1 c. brown sugar
2 c. boiling water
1 tsp. butter

Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix together nuts, dates and sweet milk and add to flour mixture.

Butter a deep bread pan and put in combined mixture. Pour the remaining ingredients (mixed together) over, but do not stir. This will look unusual but do not be tempted to stir.

After pouring the liquid mixture over the pudding, bake in a 350°F oven for 40 minutes. Test like cake.
