HOMEMADE GRAHAM CRACKERS 
1 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. white flour
4 c. graham flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sweet or sour milk

Cream shortening with both sugars until fluffy. Add vanilla. Sift flours, measure and add salt, soda, baking powder. Sift again, then add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Mix thoroughly after each addition. Chill in refrigerator overnight. In morning, turn out on floured board and roll as thin as possible. Cut into squares or any other shape preferred. Place 1 inch apart on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees just until crisp and golden brown.

Optional: Add 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ginger or flavoring of choice to vary taste.
