HOMEMADE GRAHAM CRACKERS | |
4 c. whole wheat flour 1 c. butter 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cream of tartar 1 egg, lightly beaten 1/2 c. hot water (approx.) 1/2 c. honey Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place the whole wheat flour in a bowl. Cut in the butter until mixture is the consistency of coarse oatmeal. Mix the honey, baking soda, cream of tartar, egg and enough hot water to make a dough that can be rolled like pastry. Roll out the dough to 1/8" thickness on a floured cloth or board. Cut into squares. Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake 15 to 20 minutes or until done. Cool on a rack. Makes about 24 crackers. |
