SUE'S JONATHAN SANDUSKY STEW | |
2 tbsp. butter 2 lg. onions, chopped 1 lb. good ground beef 1/2 c. celery, chopped 1 green pepper, chopped 1 c. elbow macaroni 3/4 c. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated Salt and pepper to taste 2 c. canned tomatoes (big can) Melt butter; add onion and saute until soft. Brown the ground beef. Combine onion with meat and brown lightly. Add celery, green pepper, macaroni and 1/2 of the cheese, salt, pepper, and chopped tomatoes. Macaroni can be used without cooking if above mixture is put in refrigerator overnight, covered. Then bake uncovered in 350 degree oven for 1 hour, adding the rest of the cheese as topping the last 15 to 20 minutes. Test macaroni for doneness. If you cook the macaroni, follow the same directions, only cooking time may decrease by 15 to 20 minutes. |
