POPPY SEED TEA BREAD | |
1 1/2 c. sugar 1 c. softened butter 3 eggs 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 tsp. almond extract 3 c. all-purpose flour 1 1/2 c. milk 1 tbsp. poppy seeds 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 1/2 tsp. salt Powdered sugar In large mixer bowl, combine sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla and almond extract. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until light and fluffy. Add remaining ingredients except powdered sugar. Continue beating until well mixed. Pour into greased and floured 12 cup bundt pan or 10" tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 65 minutes or until wooden pick comes out clean when inserted in center. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pan. Cool completely; sprinkle with powdered sugar. (This sweet bread, filled with poppy seeds, makes a terrific snack anytime!) |
