BREAD BUNS - AUNTIE PEGGY'S
2 c. milk
1 1/2 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. sugar
2 eggs
1 pkg. yeast
1/2 inch lard
6 c. flour

Have warm bowl ready for yeast mixture of 1/2 cup lukewarm water, 1 teaspoon sugar, sprinkle yeast and let stand 10 to 15 minutes. Scald milk in double boiler, put in another bowl and add salt, lard and sugar (4 tablespoons). When milk has cooled add eggs, yeast mixture and beat with electric mixer.

Add flour and mix with wooden spoon, knead (the more you knead the finer the bread). Put in lightly greased bowl wrapped in blanket and let rise 2 hours. Knead second time, add a little flour if necessary.

Cut off 2 inch squares, put in greased muffin tins or roll 3 little balls, put together and place on cookie sheet. Cover and let rise 1 hour. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes or until brown.
