ROMAN APPLE CAKE 
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar, white
1/2 c. sugar, brown
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. sour milk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. flour
2 c. diced apples
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Cream well shortening, sugars and eggs. Mix together sour milk, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and flour. Blend the two mixtures together and add apples. For topping, mix 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Put topping on and bake for 55 minutes at 350 degrees.
