BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES 
1 gallon small cucumbers
2 green peppers, cut up
5 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. tumeric
2 tbsp. mustard seed
8 sm. onions, cut in thin slices
1/2 c. pickling salt
5 c. cider vinegar
1 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. celery seed

Wash cucumbers, sliced, combine all vegetables and salt and mix with ice and let stand 3 hours. Drain. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over the vegetables and bring to the boiling point. Pack in sterilized jars and seal at once.
