STRAWBERRY JAM LOAF 
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. cloves
3/4 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
5 eggs
1-1 1/2 c. strawberry jam
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. nuts
1 c. coconut

Sift together flour, salt, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and cloves; set aside. Cream shortening and sugar well together. Blend in eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Blend in 1-1 1/2 cups strawberry jam, depending on thickness of jam; add vanilla, add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk. Blend well, add nuts and coconut. Bake at 325 degrees for 1-1 1/2 hours.
