FRENCH FRIED ONION RINGS 
4 lg. onions
1/2 c. flour
2/3 c. milk
Shortening or oil for frying

Peel onions and cut into 1/4" slices, crosswise and separate into rings. Soak rings in milk 10 to 15 minutes.

Dredge rings in flour, then fry in deep shortening, or oil heated to 365 degrees a few at a time, until well browned, about 2 or 3 minutes. Drain on paper toweling. Season and serve immediately.
