CABBAGE SOUP WITH MEATBALLS 
4 lb. cabbage
1 lg. onion, diced
3 tbsp. oil
2 lb. chopped meat
2 eggs
Garlic powder
Paprika
Pepper
Salt
Matzo meal
Handful rice
1 sm. can tomato sauce
3 tbsp. ketchup
3 tbsp. sugar or 2 pkg. sweet & low
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 tart apple

Saute onion in oil in a large pot. Clean and slice cabbage. Add onions and mix. Make meatballs with next 8 ingredients. Place meatballs over cabbage mixture. Add tomato sauce, ketchup and water to cover.

Cook 1 1/2 to 2 hours on low flame. Taste; add sugar, lemon juice and salt. Slice apple very thin. Spread apples over soup and cook about 10 more minutes. Add a handful of raisins, if desired.
