FRUIT COCKTAIL CAKE 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 med. size can fruit cocktail
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/2 c. walnut meats
1 c. raisins (opt.)

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla and juice from fruit cocktail. Beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients and mix well. Add fruit cocktail, nuts and raisins. Bake in a 350 degree oven about 35 minutes, or until done, test with toothpick. Makes one large loaf cake. "Delish" served with whipped cream topping.
