TURMERIC PICKLES | |
cucumbers 2 handfuls of salt Brine: 1 c. sugar 1 c. vinegar 1 tsp. mustard seed 1 tsp. turmeric 1/2 tsp. celery seed Clean and thinly slice cucumbers into a large pan. Pour salt over cucumbers. Let stand at least 2 hours or over night. Rinse and drain well. Bring to a boil all brine ingredients. Put in as many cucumbers as the liquid will take and let it come to a boil. Cucumber slices will turn color. Put in sterilized jars and seal. |
