CHOW CHOW 
1/2 gal. green tomatoes
1 doz. green peppers
1/2 doz. red peppers
1 to 2 heads cabbage
1 doz. large onions
6 tbsp. mustard seed
2 lbs. sugar
1 tsp. ground cloves

Chop in food processor first 5 ingredients. Stand for 3 hours or overnight in 1/2 cup salt. Drain well. Add sugar, spices and vinegar, enough to cover. Bring to rolling boil, stirring, until color changes. Keep hot while canning.

(This is my Grandmother Tanner's recipe. I estimate my family has used it for 80 years.)
