RAISIN BARS 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 c. water
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. raisins
1 pinch salt

Mix all ingredients in a pan, bring to a boil for 3 minutes. Cool 20 minutes. Add 2 cups flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 2 cups chopped nuts.

Mix everything on a greased 15"x10" cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

While hot ice with powdered sugar icing (a little vanilla). Let cool overnight or until icing has set.

2 c. sifted powdered sugar
1/3 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla

Freezes great.
