PIZZA RUSTICA 
1/2 lb. mild bulk pork sausage
1 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
2 med. tomatoes, chopped
1/3 c. tomato paste
1 tsp. dried basil, crushed
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dried thyme, crushed
1 1/2 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese
1 slightly beaten egg
Prepared pizza crust dough

Prepare pizza dough as directed. Cover; let rise in warm place until double (about 1 hour).

Cook sausage, onion, and green pepper until meat is browned and vegetables are tender. Drain.

Combine next 5 ingredients and 3 tablespoons water. Stir in meat mixture.

Divide dough into 6 pieces. Cover; let rest 10 minutes. On floured surface roll each into an 8 inch circle. Spoon 2/3 cup meat mixture onto half of each circle; sprinkle with 1/4 cup cheese.

Moisten edge of dough with mixture of egg and 1 teaspoon water. Fold in half; seal edge by pressing with fork. Prick tops; brush with remaining egg mixture. Bake on greased baking sheet in 375 degree oven for 30 to 35 minutes. Makes 6 servings.
