CARAMEL LAYER CHOCOLATE SQUARES 
5 oz. Pet milk
1 pkg. Kraft caramels
1 pkg. German or Swiss chocolate cake mix
3/4 c. melted butter
1 c. nuts (opt.)
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Mix 1/3 cup milk with caramels in double boiler or microwave until smooth. Mix cake mix, butter, nuts and remaining milk. Spread half of mixture in a 9"x13" greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes. While hot, sprinkle on chocolate chips and melted caramel. Spread on remaining cake mixture. Bake for 15 minutes more. Cool. Cut into squares.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
