BUTTER RUM GLAZE 
1/4 c. plus 2 tbsp. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped
3 tbsp. rum
3 tbsp. water

Combine butter, rum, sugar, and water in a small saucepan. Bring this to a boil. Boil mixture, stirring constantly (about 3 minutes). Remove from heat. Stir in walnuts. Prick top of pound cake at 1 inch intervals with wooden spoon. Pour glaze over warm cake.
