SANDWICH BUNS 
1 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
1 egg
1 tbsp. salt
2 pkgs. dry yeast
4 c. warm water
12 c. flour

Cream sugar and shortening; add eggs and salt. Mix well and add dry yeast mixed with water. Add 4 cups flour; beat well with mixer. Add 4 more cups flour; mix with spoon. Add 4 more cups flour; mix with hands. Knead 10 to 15 minutes, adding flour as needed. Let rise 2 to 3 hours in large container, greased. Grease top of dough and cover. Punch down dough and shape into buns. Cover and let rise until double in size. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown, time depends on size of buns (25 minutes).
