WAFFLE IRON CORN BREAD 
1 c. all purpose flour
1 c. cornmeal, coarse grind
3 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
4 to 6 tbsp. melted shortening
1 1/2 c. milk

Mix dry ingredients, add melted shortening. Stir well. Add milk. Mix. Let stand 15 minutes or longer. Spread lightly on greased waffle iron. Bake until brown. May be frozen.
