SOUR CREAM COOKIES 
Mix together:

1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs

Stir in:

1 c. thick sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift together:

2 3/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Chill one hour. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake in 400 degree preheated oven 8 to 10 minutes.

FROST with Chocolate Joy Icing:

Sift together:

2 2/3 c. sifted confectioners' sugar
1/3 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. cocoa

Add:

1 lg. egg yolk
1/3 c. soft shortening
About 5 tbsp. hot water

Beat until smooth and easy to spread. Spread on cookies. Press on 1/2 walnut.
