BATTER BREAD | |
1/2 c. sugar 2 cakes yeast 1 1/2 c. warm water 3 1/2 c. bread flour 1 1/2 tsp. salt 2 eggs 1/2 c. butter Mix all ingredients and let rise covered for 1 hour in greased bread pan. Bake at 400 degrees until top is browned. CHERRY SURPRISE: 2 (1 lb.) can red sour pitted cherries 4 c. sugar 1 lb. butter 1 1/2 loaves bread Mix cherries, sugar, and butter in pan; heat to boiling. Crumble bread in little pieces; let dry. Pour cherry mixture over bread and mix well. Bake about 10 minutes at 375 degrees. Cut and serve hot topped with vanilla ice cream or topping of choice. Makes about 24 (2 x 2 inch) servings. |
