KUCHEN 
1 c. hot milk
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 cake yeast dissolved in 1/4 c. lukewarm milk
1/3 c. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
2 3/4 c. flour, about

Add butter, sugar and salt to milk, when lukewarm add dissolved yeast, beaten egg and flour to make a very stiff batter. Beat well cover and let rise until light. About 2 hours. Spread 1/2 inch thick in oiled pan, cover and let rise about 30 minutes. When light spread over top of cake 2 tablespoons melted butter, then sprinkle with crumb topping, can use fresh fruit on top. If using fruit put fruit on first and then crumbs.

TOPPING:

1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. flour

Rub butter into sugar and flour mixture so it is crumbly.
