RED VELVET CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. oil
2 eggs
1 tsp. vinegar
2 oz. red food coloring
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream sugar and oil. Add eggs and beat well. Add vinegar and food coloring, beating well. Mix dry ingredients together and add alternately with buttermilk. Add vanilla, beat well. Pour into greased and floured cake pan. Bake at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes.

RED VELVET FROSTING:

1 stick butter, softened
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 tsp. vanilla
1 box powdered sugar
1 c. chopped nuts

Cream butter and cheese. Add vanilla and sugar, mixing well. Add nuts and spread on cooled cake.
