PICKLED MUSHROOMS 
2/3 c. tarragon vinegar
1/2 c. salad oil
1 med. clove garlic
1 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
Dash ground pepper
2 tbsp. water
Dash of hot pepper sauce
1 med. onion, sliced and separated into rings
1 lb. mushrooms, sliced or halved (uncooked)

Combine first eight ingredients. Add onions and mushrooms. Cover and let set at least eight hours in the refrigerator. Stir 3 or 4 times.
