OATMEAL CAKE 
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. quick oats
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. self rising flour

Pour boiling water over oats, let stand 20 minutes. Cream butter, sugar, eggs and oatmeal mixture. Add flour, cinnamon and soda. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees in 9 x 13 inch pan. Take out spread topping over cake and put back in oven at 450 degrees until brown.

TOPPING:

6 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. pet milk
1 c. coconut
1/2 tsp. vanilla
