1 1/2 c. Crisco or butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. dates, floured
1 c. nuts
1/4 c. minced or grated orange peel
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
2/3 c. orange juice

Bake in large pan at 350 degrees. When done, pour over it. Juice of one orange and its grated rind and 1/2 cup sugar. Cut into squares. May serve with whipped topping.
