DARK REFRIGERATOR ROLLS | |
1 c. boiling water 1 c. Grape Nuts or Grape Nuts Flakes 3/4 c. shortening 3/4 c. sugar 6 c. sifted flour 1 c. warm water 2 pkgs. yeast 1 1/4 tsp. salt 2 beaten eggs Pour boiling water over cereal, shortening, sugar; cool. Add eggs, salt and yeast to warm water. Combine the two mixtures. Add 5 cups sifted flour with spoon. Place one cup sifted flour on board and knead the dough. Put in greased bowl and place in refrigerator. Roll out as needed. Let dough rise in a greased pan about 2 hours before baking. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes. Makes about 6 dozen rolls. |
