3 med. potatoes, boiled in a pt. of water & smashed 2 cakes yeast 2 tsp. sugar 1 qt. flour 2 c. sugar 1 c. lard 3 eggs Put sugar on yeast and smash. Add 1 pint of lukewarm water or milk to yeast. Mix with lukewarm potatoes. Add flour enough to make a stiff not sticky dough. Let this stand overnight. In the morning, knead well and make into cakes like other fat cakes, only bigger. Lay on boards and let them rise to twice their original thickness. Fry in hot lard and roll in sugar. |
