2 c. flour
1 c. water
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 stick butter
1/2 c. shortening
4 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift flour, sugar and soda. Set aside. Mix cocoa with the warm water in saucepan. Add the butter and shortening and bring to a rapid boil. Cool slightly and add to flour and sugar mixture. Add remaining ingredients. Mix well and pour into a 16 x 11 inch greased pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.

ICING:

1 stick butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
1 lb. box powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. pecans or walnuts

In saucepan, mix butter, cocoa and milk. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add other ingredients. Beat well; spread on cake while still hot.
