1 1/2 lb. (3 sticks) butter
3/4 lb. (1 1/2 cups) sugar
3 eggs, beaten
2 tsp. vanilla
9 cups all-purpose flour

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla and mix well. Gradually add flour.

Roll very thin and cut with your favorite cookie cutters. Sprinkle with additional sugar, if desired.

Bake at 350°F for 12 to 15 minutes on ungreased cookie sheets.
