GINGERBREAD COOKIES 
2 1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. light molasses
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. double-acting baking powder
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Measure all ingredients into large bowl. Beat at medium speed until well mixed. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour.
