MY MOTHER'S CHOCOLATE FUDGE CAKE 
1 tbsp. vinegar
2 c. flour
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 c. buttermilk
2 oz. bitter chocolate
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift and measure flour, add salt and sift 3 times. Cream butter, add sugar and beat until creamy. Add one egg, unbeaten, mix well, add another egg and beat 2 minutes, add vanilla, flour and buttermilk, making 4 additions of flour and 3 of milk. Add melted chocolate and mix well, lastly add soda in vinegar and add to batter, beating a few seconds more. Bake in 375 degree oven about 25 minutes. Makes 3 layers.
