BACON AND WATER CHESTNUTS 
1 (5 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. soy sauce
6-8 slices bacon

Cut bacon in half lengthwise and then cut in pieces crosswise.

Marinate water chestnuts in soy sauce for 45 minutes. Roll each chestnuts in sugar, wrap with a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick. Arrange on broiler pan and bake for 20 minutes at 400 degrees. Drain well before serving. Serve hot.
