BANANA NUT BREAD 
1 3/4 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
2 c. mashed bananas
4 well beaten eggs
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. chopped nuts

Cream first 5 ingredients. Sift flour, salt and baking soda together. Add to creamed ingredients. Add vanilla and nuts. Place in greased and floured bread pan. Bake in preheated oven at 325 degrees for 1 hour or until a toothpick comes out clean when stuck in center of loaf. Enjoy!
