ITALIAN CREME CAKE | |
1 stick butter 1/2 c. Crisco 2 c. sugar 5 egg yolks 2 c. plain flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. buttermilk 1 can chopped nuts 5 egg whites, stiffly beaten 1 can coconut Cream butter and Crisco. Add sugar and beat until smooth. Add egg yolks and beat well. Combine flour and soda; add to mixture alternately with buttermilk. Stir in vanilla; add nuts and coconut. Fold in egg whites. Bake in 3 (9 inch) pans at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. ICING: 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese 1 tsp. vanilla 1 box powdered sugar 1/2 stick butter Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add sugar and vanilla; beat until creamy. |
