BUTTERNUT MELTAWAYS 
1 lb. butter
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. cake flour
2 c. pecans, chopped fine

1. Cream butter; add sugar and beat until well blended.

2. Combine flours in separate bowl. Add to butter mixture along with vanilla and nuts; mix well.

3. Cover and chill for 1 hour. Shape small pieces of dough into balls or crescent shapes.

4. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 18 to 20 minutes or until lightly brown on bottoms. Remove from oven and immediately dust with powdered sugar. Makes 6 dozen.
