HUNGARIAN GOULASH | |
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef 3 med. onions, sliced 1 tbsp. paprika 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. black pepper 1 (10 1/2 oz.) can condensed beef broth 3 tbsp. flour 1 c. sour cream 1 qt. sauerkraut 2 lg. potatoes 4 oz. uncooked noodles 1 tsp. caraway seed 2 tbsp. brown sugar Brown ground beef and onions. Cook until tender. Add seasonings. Mix beef broth and flour. Add to beef. Simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Saute grated potatoes 3 minutes. Add sauerkraut, noodles, sugar and caraway seed. Add water and bring to boil. Reduce heat. Simmer approximately 20 minutes or until most of liquid is evaporated. Mix sour cream into beef and sauce. Serve over sauerkraut mix. Serves 8 to 10. |
