ANISE CANDY SQUARES 
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. white corn syrup
1/2 c. water
1/2 tsp. Anise flavoring
1/2 tsp. red food coloring

Boil sugar, water and syrup to hard ball stage (300 degrees at low heat for about 1 hour). Remove from heat. Add flavoring and coloring. Pour at once onto a buttered dish. Mark off squares before it cools.
