HONEY BUN BARS 
CRUST:

1/2 c. butter
1 1/3 c. flour
3 tbsp. cold water
2 tbsp. honey

FILLING BATTER:

1/2 c. butter
1 c. water
1 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3 eggs
1/2 c. honey
1 tsp. almond extract
1/2 c. chopped pecans

ICING:

1 c. confectioners' sugar
1/2 tsp. almond extract
3-4 tsp. milk or cream

CRUST: Cut butter into flour until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add water and blend until a dough forms. With floured fingers, press into bottom of greased 13"x9" pan. Drizzle honey over crust; spread slightly.

FILLING: In saucepan melt butter in water. Bring to a boil and add flour and salt all at once. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture forms a stiff ball, about 1 minute. Remove from heat; add eggs, one at a time. Beat until smooth and glossy. Stir in honey and almond extract.

Spread batter over crust. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes. Remove from oven. Sprinkle with pecans. Return to oven and bake 10 minutes longer. Cool slightly.

ICING: Combine 3 ingredients well. Drizzle over cooled batter. Cut into 1"x3" bars. Makes 36 bars.
