TOLL HOUSE COOKIE BRITTLE 
1 c. butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sugar
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1 c. chopped walnuts

Combine butter, salt and vanilla and blend well. Gradually beat in sugar. Add flour, chocolate pieces and 3/4 cup of walnuts; mix well.

Press evenly onto ungreased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 pan. Sprinkle remaining walnuts over top and press lightly. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool and break into irregular pieces.
