WILD GAME ELEPHANT STEW
1 medium size elephant
salt & pepper
8 rabbits (optional)

Cut elephant into bite size pieces (this should take about 2 months). Add enough gravy to cover.

Cook over kerosene fire for 4 weeks at 465°F.

This will serve about 3,800 people. If more come than are expected, the 2 rabbits may be added, but do this only if necessary as most people don't like hare in their stew.

Recipe is spot on! An important caveat as per the salt: Ordinary table salt will not hold up to the prolonged cooking times. Use coarse (Kosher) salt. Also, my "go to" gravy for hippo is always creamed possum, and racoons fat. And finally - substitute chinchilla for rabbit.

I could tell when Mom was going to make this recipe. She'd keep an elephant in the refrigerator. And you can always tell when that happens because there will be footprints in the butter.

Elephants will never forget you... If I were you I'd never set foot in the jungle...

OMG! Thank you so much to all the good humored people! I enjoyed laughing about everything! But I must say that I'll have to use a moose as I live in the mountains in New Hampshire. I'll be sure to use those hares as stuffing though! LOL! And to the 2 people that are way too serious, lighten up a little. No one was serious about this recipe... just trying to have a laugh in this hell hole called life!!
