AUNT ELIZABETH'S CASSEROLE 
1 lb. ground beef
1 sm. onion, chopped
1 can tomato or 3/4 c. tomato juice
1 can cream of mushroom soup
Sm. can of green peas, undrained
1/2 c. instant rice
1/8 tsp. garlic powder or salt
Pepper to taste
1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese

In a large skillet brown ground beef and onion. Drain off excess liquid. Add remaining ingredients except cheese. Pour into a 2 quart casserole and bake for 30 minutes. Remove from oven. Top with cheese. Allow cheese to melt before serving. Serves 6.
